This book has been written in such a manner that anyone familiar with the basics of relativity and quantum mechanics should be able to work through it without much difficulty. It includes a brief chapter on relativity in which the notation employed in relativistic quantum mechanics is explained with particular attention to covariant and contravariant vectors and derivatives and related topics. The Klein-Gordon equations for a free particle as well as for charged particles in electromagnetic field are derived along with their non-relativistic limits. The Dirac equation is discussed in detail. One chapter is devoted to the basics of scattering calculations in relativistic quantum mechanics and gives the first steps towards QED.
