The topics covered reflect some of the general research trends in high temperature superconducting, namely the realization that many of the issues relevant to the HTS materials have proven to be important to the understanding of a broader class of strongly correlated systems. The common theme is the role that strong correlation effects play in determining the novel characteristics of these materials. The volume is divided into seven sections: heavy fermion insulators; heavy fermion magnetism and superconductivity; the metal-insulator transition; the superconductor-insulator transitions; lattice effects in HTS; spin fluctuations and HTS; and the normal state of HTS.
