Chemistry-- promoting the dispersion of modified HNTs inside the rubber matrix, the goal is to improve the mechanical and thermal characteristics of the resultant nanocomposites for damping application. Si69 and APTES, two silane-coupling agents, are utilized to alter the surface of HNTs by creating covalent connections between silanes and hydroxyl groups.
